Virtual PC KB 958559 Install Fails - Error Code 0x8004a029

The KB update fails during the update at the 96% complete point (after it reboots) every time. (running Win 7 Enterprise 64-bit on brand new DellLatitude E6510, with i7 processor )

I installed XP Mode first as MS website states, then tried 2nd step to install KB958559 but it fails.

Removed my VMWare workstation and tried to do an install, and tried multiple other suggestions in other posts , to no avail.

Here's the point in the CBS log where it fails:

Thanks for the pointers PA Bear.  The first thread didn't really help, but the second thread was a little more useful.  It appears that the issue had to do with my network filters.

The thread was http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itprovirt/thread/44345f66-87fc-4a9e-aede-153a976a4b49

I have Cisco VPN software, a Juniper Networks software package, a Symantec package, etc, installed on the system, all of which seem to have at least one filter driver each.  Add to that the MS drivers for Netbios, etc, it is quite a collection.  Since I could not remove the VPN, Juniper or Symantec items, I removed the QoS driver from my network configuration.

The install of the package went very smoothly after that, and I have XP Mode up and running.  I wish the MS rep would have pointed me to those threads to start with.

Thanks again for your reply and assistance.  :-)
