Dethcomsqk,
     If you ran the fix from the link above, to reset the Windows update components, and are still having the issue then you should run the System File Checker.  Also you may want to run a Disk Error Check as well. 

Post back with the results from the system file checker.

updates in general arnt working, the service is crashed completely, wont even start.

    Here are some links with troubleshooting steps for general Windows Update issues.  You may want to first try disabling any firewall software and then test Windows Update.  Make sure that you turn it back on as soon as you are done running the udpates.

what i meant is it is completely crashed. i don't even have a 3rd party firewall on the system yet. just antivirus, when i go into update it says " update is off" i try to enable it and it gives me a whole hand full of errors.
