Question

Error Code 80070246 Blocking Windows Updates

I have tried several times to select and install various updates to Windows Vista (SP1), Microsoft Office (2007), Internet Explorer (7), etc., but I get Error 80070246.  I then tried to install one update at a time, but I get the same message.  I have already looked up and attempted the other solutions provided for this error--none work.  Any suggestions?  According to Windows Update, I have 84 critical and 2 optional updates to make, and I cannot accomplish any at this point.

I was out of town for a few days, but I never received notification of your reply.

This was one of several "solutions" I attempted, but none have worked yet.  I have to wait until tomorrow to attempt to open vista_6000.16386.061101-2205-LRMAIK_EN.img because of restrictions from my ISP.  Other than this, all suggestions in the forums thus far have failed.

Please be aware that the link to the Vista forums bounces to the Windows 7 forum instead.  I am not able to post in the correct place.

I hope you have a suggestion that will help me.  Windows Update says I have 70 critical updates, and I am getting worried about the state of my computer.

Thank you in advance.
