BSOD after 13th October Windows Update

Yesterday, during shutdown, my Vista Home Premium x64 installed 15 updates automatically. The PC was completely fine before, no problem at all.

Today, at startup, BSOD, F4. The message is "A process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated."

I tried with system recovery, but it fails. I tried safe mode, even safe mode with console: BSOD again.

HP diagnostics state that the PC is ok: memory ok, disks ok. The problem is with an update, I'm sure about this, I have found another Vista user with the same problem since the 13th October update:

I want to remove the SUGGESTED updates (not the critical ones) manually, is this possible? Is there anywhere a list of the 13th October updates? How can I remove them?

Any suggestion is welcome, I don't want to reinstall 450GB of software... please :)

I'm running vista x32 and the update yesterday did exactly the same thing to my pc - clicked restart after the update got bsod and did a system restore and all was fine. Tried installing the same windows update and exactly the same thing happened again. My pc is an HP too, but I don't know if this is coincidental or not. Can't find anything on the net to suggest this is happening to too many people... google search led me here.

My solution for XP:

1. Restart safe mode

2. CHKDSK /f

Safe mode doesn't start form me, but I think I can launch it from the console... I will try, but I'm sure that the problem is related to the update.

For me system restore doesn't work.

What is the update giving problems to you? Do you know which one is affecting your startup?

Knowing that I could try to remove it manually, let me know please.

In my case the BSoD appeared after beginning again for the updates, but yes it allows me to initiate in safe mode with support of network.

Sorry I don't understand, the problem reappeared after reapplying the updates? And you can solve it again with CHKDSK?

Update

I have done a chkdsk /f, some error was found and was corrected, but when I restart the BSOD is there again.

I'm stuck.

I can't find the memory dumps, under C:\Windows\Minidumps there are only 2 old files.

Your help is much appreciated. I'm really surprised that even safe mode doesn't work!
