ID Event 36888 Shannel

I get the same one, but it's not just with Bad Company 2. I get it even when my computer is sitting there powered up and not even being used.

I've also asked the question in another thread myself and no one from Microsoft had an answer.

·        Were you able to play the game before on the Windows 7 system?

·        Apart from playing the game are you able to browse websites without any issues?

·        Are you trying to play the game online?

Regarding Schannel, it is one of the Security Support Providers. The Windows operating system implements the TLS/SSL protocols as a Security Support Provider SSP, a dynamic-link library (DLL) called Schannel that is supplied with the operating system. You may refer to the "Schannel SSP Architecture" section of the article below:

Follow the steps mentioned below.

Step 1:

Uncheck the TLS (transport layer security) options in Internet Explorer and check.

a.       Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools.

b.      Click on Internet Options and click on the advanced tab.

c.       In Security, make sure that the TLS is not checked.

d.      Click on Apply and then click Ok.

e.      Now try to play the game and check.

I can play the game and surf the net with no problem. It's just an event that shows up in "event viewer".

I just checked in my internet options and TLS is indeed checked.

I'll uncheck it and see if that stops the event. Is there going to be a security problem if it's not checked?

Hey there!

Since I unchecked TLS I haven't seen a "Schannel" error in event viewer and it's been four days now.

What you suggested doing seems to have done the trick, thank you!

I have tried all but no luck i don't have problem on web just Battlefield Bad Company 2.

And i can play offline and Online no problem.

Maybe it's Battlefield Bad Company 2 R8 server patch the problem let see if next patch will resolve the problem.
