Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview are prerelease versions of Windows 8.1 and are scheduled to expire soon. Therefore, the Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview communities are scheduled to retire on 14 January 2014.

When the Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview communities retire:

  • The Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview versions will be removed from all forum dropdowns.
  • You will not be able to create new threads in the Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview version forums.
  • Threads you participated in or followed will be archived to your profile.
  • All threads will be locked and become read-only.
  • All threads will be hidden from search engine indexes.

We recommend that all Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview users update to Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 and start new conversations in the Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 communities.

Thanks and Regards-

Hopefully the IE11 Release Preview (for Win7) "community" will be retired [killed off], too?! => http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11_pr-windows_7
