Hi Akriti,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forums.

To help you suggest more steps to resolve the issue, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions.

1)    Have you made any recent hardware or software changes to your computer prior to the issue?

2)    Do you get any error code / message?

Method 1:

Check if the User Access Control (UAC) is enabled.

Refer the link.

“What is User Account Control?”

Method 2:  Check the required resolution supports.

The minimum resolution required to support all the features of Windows 8 should be 1024x768. If the Modern User Interface app will not run on 1024x600 or 1280x720 resolutions.

Method 3:

What to do if you have problems with an app.

On the same link you will see Apps troubleshooter. This tool can automatically find and fix some problems with apps.

Method 4: Perform Clean Boot.

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows 8 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
