What is the difference between Windows 8 Pro and Pro Pack with Windows Media Center

I plan on upgrading to Windows 8 Pro and notice I can purchase either Windows Pro or the Pro Pack with Windows Media Center included.  Does anyone know the difference between the two?  They seem like both are upgrades to Windows 8 Professional and both upgrades cost the same.  The only difference I can see is that the Pro Pack comes with Media Center and Windows Pro does not.  If that is the only difference?  If so, why even offer Windows 8 Pro?  Seems like the Pro Pack is the better deal if it costs the same and comes with WMC.  Please let me know if my thinking is correct or amd I missing something here, thank you.
you answered your own question, Win pro 8 does not included Windows Media Center (used for TV tuners, etc).

OK, so the Pro Pack with WMC is the exact same upgrade for the exact same price, with the only difference that it includes WMC.  If thats correct, it would've been simpler just to have included WMC in Windows Pro and not even had a Pro Pack.  Anyway, looks like I'll order the Pro Pack with WMC since it gives more bang for the buck.

No... Windows 8 Pro upgrade will upgrade you from xp, vista, 7 to windows 8 pro.  The pro pack on the other hand requires you have windows 8 installed and upgrades you to windows 8 pro.  It is sort of like going from XP Home to XP pro.  However, the Windows 8 pro pack does include media center but you can purchase that online once you install the windows 8 pro.  Also for a limited time, Microsoft is offering windows 8 Pro upgrade from their site for only 39 dollars and offering media center for free as well until January 31st  This is how I acquired my upgrade.  I upgraded from 7 home premium to 8 pro then got my free product key for media center.  Get your copy today for only $39.00

The reason they have 2 offers is that it costs Mircosoft for the codecs for WMC. Most of the general public do not use WMC so why pay for a feature hardly anyone uses?! If you want WMC they [Microsoft] give it to you for free through the optional pack. They must be saving billions of $$$$$.

Does the Windows 8 Pro Pack include support for Hyper V like windows 8 Pro does ?   This is why i need it.

In order to use Hyper-V, your system will need to meet the following requirements.

- Windows 8 Pro or Windows 8 Enterprise.

- Must be using a 64-bit operating system

- Minimum of 4GB of RAM
