Installing Windows 8 on computer with 1024 X 600 Resolution

Hi MS Community,

Even though the resolution for installing Windows 8 has to be 1024 X600, I am still thinking of installing it on my netbook (Toshiba NB505-N500BL).  I have read the statement that with such a low resolution, Windows 8 apps won't run.  Is this all apps? I would probably be using Windows 8 IE10, mail and calendar the most with my computer, so would those apps also not work? If I do try to run an app, what happens? Does the screen go blank? Does Windows crash/reboot?

Just would like to get some specifics, so that I know what I am getting myself into.

I appreciate all of your comments,

R:)

Whether you have a logo PC or you’ve built your own PC, the recommendations for Windows 8 include:

1 GHz or faster processor
1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

One new element to Windows 8 is the requirement that Metro style applications have a minimum of 1024x768 screen resolution, and 1366x768 for the snap feature. If you attempt to launch a Metro style app with less than this resolution (e.g. 800x600, 1024x600) you will receive an error message.

For Metro Apps to work, you need to have the following:
1) Your screen resolution needs to be at least 1024x768.
