Answer

Hi Sherif,

The error doesn’t specify much about Blackberry Desktop Manager, but about Windows Installer. Is the issue specific to Blackberry Desktop Manager? Try to install few other application to check if you experience similar issue.

If you experience a similar issue then check the Windows Installer service under services; make sure it’s turned ON or started. To do so, refer to the following steps:

a) Click 'Window Key + R' to bring the run dialog box and type in 'services.msc'.

b) In the list search for 'Windows Installer' and double click to open.

c) If the service is not started then ‘Start’ it; if it’s already started, Stop and Restart the service.

d) You may then close the services Windows.

Now register the Microsoft installer:

a) Click 'Window Key + R' to bring the run dialog box.

b) Type msiexec /regserver (You may not see any notification of the command being executed successfully, unless there was an error).

Try to install the program again. If the issue persists or if the issue is specific to Blackberry Desktop Manager then post the event viewer logs to know more about the issue. Try the following steps to access Event Viewer:

a) Press 'Windows key + R' simultaneously on your keyboard to bring the run dialog box.

b) Type ‘eventvwr’ (without quotes) and press ‘OK’.

c) Expand ‘Windows Logs’ on the left pane and look for the error logs under Application and System.

d) Copy the information and post it here so that we can analyze it.

Hope to hear from you soon.
