Hi! I just got a new laptop with Windows 8 on it (yikes!) I tried to download iTunes and it said the d/l went through ok, but when I click on the icon I am getting the following error msg.
"Apple application support was not found. apple application support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall, and re-install iTunes" Error 2 (windows error 2)
Can I follow the steps you already commented to resolve this? I don't want to uninstall without being positive I won't screw anything up (I did that before)
thanks!!

I tried all the steps and I cannot get beyond the point where it says "An installation for Apple Application Support (64-bit) is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes? Hitting Yes does absolutely nothing except bring me back to that statement. Hitting no closes the iTunes dialog box, but does not uninstall.
