It may help to look at the minidump files from the crashes with a debugger.
Can you zip up the minidump files in the C:\Windows\Minidump folder and make available (provide link) via Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site?
The following link has information on using Windows Live SkyDrive:
If you have problems zipping the minidump files copy the minidump files to another location such as a folder on the Desktop
Also, you do not necessarily have to zip up the minidump files, you can upload them one at a time.

dropbox is fine.
The minidump files showed a SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b) stop error referencing the win32ksys:
BUCKET_ID: 0x3B_win32k!UserGetDesktopDC
This could well indicate an issue with the display driver.
What I would suggest is o uninstall the ATI display driver presently installed and then install the most recent ATI display driver available from HP for the laptop.

You're welcome.Hi auggy, sorry to bother you again but i got another BSOD, same Service Error Exception and 0x03b. But this time it went to bluescreen while I had my windows media player open - playing music, google chrome, and windows live mail on desktop. I'm not sure which one did the error but the live mail is the newest program I just installed so i'm thinking that's the case but here are the dump files for more details.

The error is the same as before:
BUCKET_ID: 0x3B_win32k!UserGetDesktopDC
What I might suggest at this point is to update the BIOS.
There appears to be a BIOS update for the dm1-4305au - F.13 with the following "Fix/Enhancement":
"Provides support for systems running Microsoft Windows 8"
Before updating the BIOS back up any critical files because of the small chance of hardware failure after a failed BIOS update.

Sorry for bringing this post back to life but I have been struggling for the past half hour to find the right category where to post my issue and did not find it, if you can assist me with that and if a new thread is needed just let me know where to go and I will proceed promptly.
I am facing the same problem, running windows 8 with all updates.

Hi,
There were several different stop errors which may indicate a hardware issue.
The vmware-vmx.exe was the process that crashed in several of the crashes which may indicate an issue with that software so make sure you have installed the latest VMware software.
I am going to suggest to open a new topic to get further help:
Choose Windows/Windows8/Performance and Maintenance

I have a PC with this same bluescreen error.
Could you please have a look at my dump file and determine the problem?
