how do i put a shortcut to outlook mail on my desktop in windows 8

How are you trying to access Outlook mail? Is it through Mail app, through web or through email client (Microsoft Outlook)?

If you are referring Microsoft Office Outlook, I would suggest you to follow the steps.

a.    Press Windows key.

b.   Type Microsoft Office Outlook under Apps.

c.    Now right click on Microsoft Office Outlook and select open file location.

d.   Right click on Microsoft Office Outlook and select Sent to and the click on Desktop (Create shortcut).

I do not have office outlook tile also don't own mic soft office
