Windows Updates fail 15AUG2012 - (KB2732500) (KB2729094) (KB2732487) (KB2647753) [Error 80071A90]

This morning's updates will not install correctly. After the restart system button the installation fails to complete during boot up and 'reverts' to previous. When the system restarts the update window shows the updates as outstanding which then becomes a reiterative process. Can you help please - I've tried the fix-it man but no good so far! As a consequence of these update failures my AV software (ESET NOD32) displays a constant warning.
