Windows updates failed to install, get an error: 0x80070002.

Have tried online advice, still can't get windows updates or use troubleshooter-perfomance issues, find & fix problems etc. plus when laptop boots up a message says the main wireless assistant programme has stopped working, after a few minutes it dissapears then i can go on the web.
