Windows 7 speech Recognition, Language selection

I have windows 7 in english, and I am wanting to use speech recognition in french

I have tried doing this:

1. Open Speech Recognition by clicking theStartbutton, clickingControl Panel, clickingEase of Access, and then clickingSpeech Recognition.
2. In the left pane, clickadvanced speech options.

But I only have English US and English UK as possible languages. Is there any way to install other languages? Because I read that Speech Recognition is also available in French and Chinese.

You can only use Speech Recognition in a different laguage if a MUI language pack is installed for one of the supported languages. The 35 MUI language packs are only available in the Ultimate and Enterprise editions of Windows 7.

In your case, installing the French MUI language pack would change the parent language to French and allow you to easily switch between languages and use the Speech Recognition in that language.

Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise

The Windows Speech Recognition language must be the same as the operating system language in Windows Vista
