Trying to open old pictures saved as .mix need a program to help me out....

I have two discs with pictures saved as file .mix. I currently  need a program that I can download that will recognize the .mix file so that I can get them resaved as a .jpeg file. Does anyone know of any such file. I have been to Mircosoft's website and they no longer use Picture It which is what I used like ten years ago to save these pics. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Windows Live Photo Gallery replaces Picture it for Windows 7.  To get the best digital photo experience, download Windows Live Photo Gallery for free. Then with the tools it offers along with Windows Media Center you can get a similar experience.

Hi,

It appears that you have more than one option to convert the .MIX files. Here are some links containing some good suggestions such as using a program called "PolyView", "Microsoft Digital Image Starter Edition" or "XnView".
