Trying to install NetworkMagic 5.5 purchased from Purenetworks with Linksys/Cisco router worked on two other PCs on home network but won't install on this PC.
Have tried uninstalling,but there is no file to uninstall. Tried looking in windows installer/clean up utility. Have tried turning off firewall. Have both Norton 360 and Windows essentials running. Have tried loading from web site and also from disk.
Tried loading from disk copied from my other 2 PCs and disk that came with router. Have tried running Purenetworks Platform clean cmd. Get message that it is only compatible with WP,Windows 2003,and Vista. Get error message "0x643" and " 0xc0000005".
Have downloaded file from Purenetworks and save on desktop. Tried running as admin. ????
You can still install Network Magic 5.5 on windows 7 in a compatibility mode.
Run the Program Compatibility Wizard
1. Open the Program Compatibility Wizard by clicking the
Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking
Programs, and then clicking Use an older program with this version of Windows.
2. Follow the instructions in the wizard.
Make older programs run in this version of Windows
