Error 2203.database: C:\Windows\Installer\3c3aaa3.ipi.Cannot open every time I try to install software.

error 2203error 2203.database:
C:\Windows\Installer\3c3aaa3.ipi.Cannot open
database file.System error-2147287035. every time i try to install software.

thank you for replying. i'll try to provide the info  requested.
1. this particular error code occurred while trying to install driver detective software. \3c3aaa3 seems to be the only part that changes.
2. the error occurs with any program i try to install.
3. i used a program called winbubbles to tweak the right click menu in order to add certain items to the list. i only used it once to claim ownership of some personal file that i could find no other way to open. i kept getting 'access denied' messages, which was very frustrating, although not near as frustrating as the current problem.

thanks again for your help.

Hi,

1.      Which software you are trying to install?

2.      Is the error confined to any specific software or does it happen while you try installing all software?

3.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?

I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if it helps.

Method 1:

Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled.

Method 2: Install the software in clean boot state.

Note: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual.

Method 3: Stop and Restart the Windows Installer Service.

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. In the Start Search box type Services and then click the Services item that appears at the top.
  3. Expand the Services window and then scroll down to Windows Installer.
  4. Right-click the Windows Installer list item and then click Stop right-click again and then click Start.
