Hi Jin,

This error message is displayed when Windows installer is unable to write or modify a registry key when installing a software. This could occur if the user doesn’t have sufficient permissions to edit the registry keys or if another third party application is not allowing Windows installer to modify a registry key. I would suggest you to try these steps and check:

Method 1:

  1. Log on to the computer by using an Administrator user account.
  2. Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
  3. On the Organize menu, click Folder and search options.
  4. Click the View tab.
  5. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
  6. Click to clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box.
  7. Click to clear the Hide protected operating system file (Recommended) check box, and then click OK.
  8. On the Warning dialog box, click Yes.
  9. Open the folder where Blue stacks in installed. The location will also be shown in the error message.
  10. Click the Security tab.
  11. Click Advanced.
  12. Click the Permissions tab.
  13. Click to select Everyone in the Permission entries list, and then click Edit.
  14. Click to select the Full Control check box.
  15. Click OK four times.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, then it is possible that some other third party software is conflicting. Boot the computer in a clean boot state and then try installing the application again. Booting the computer in a clean boot state can reduce software conflicts and help identify the root cause of the issue. You can refer to this article for more information:

 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After troubleshooting, reset the computer to start as usual. Refer to the step How to set the computer to start as usual after clean boot troubleshooting under more information.

Try these steps and let us know the results for further assistance.

Cheers,
Ben.

Ok I tried this steps but I'm still facing the same problem.
By the I've noticed there's a software which got installed in my pc called BlueStacks Notification center and I think its a part of that BlueStacks I'm trying to install.
When I tried to uninstall that BlueStacks Notification Center, it just says Windows is uninstalling but suddenly it gets closed and that software still exists.
I don't know what to do.

Hi,

In this case, you will have to remove all the old files installed by Bluestacks completely and then try installing fresh in a clean boot state. Refer to this article for more information:

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to report the issue to Bluestack support for further assistance.
