Windows Backup to USB

I want to use Windows Backup to regularly backup files to a USB stick. When I click "setup" Windows Backup does not offer that USB stick as an option even when it is plugged in (it only displays the DVD writer). Is there a way of overcoming this problem?

Hi IanPeerless,

We will not be able to backup on USB drive. You can't save backups to a flash drive. Here are some links you may refer to:

You may try backing up on USB external hard drive or CD/DVD’s

Refer the question “Why don't I see the location I want to back up to in the Back Up Files wizard?” from the below link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Back-up-and-restore-frequently-asked-questions (Holds good for Windows 7)
