Original Title: BSOD 0x116 UNSOLVE-ABLE? (Yes)
Hello!
I am here because through my own computer know how and expertise I cannot find the answer to this problem.
I have been plagued with a BSOD, specifically 0x116 for a year now, it goes on and off. It will just go away, then come back a month
or two later. Some fixes will fix it, for a month or two.
Now before the first reply is a, "Update drivers!", Or ," Do a memory test!", I have done the following.
1. Reinstalled Windows twice, once into Windows 8.1 then back to Windows 7. Neither fixed the problem.
2. Updated drivers, Done clean installs using Driver Sweep, and methods of removing files manually.
3. Done Memory test, Video Memory test, System File Check... All pass.
4. Sent GPU to manufactures, It passed.
5. Tested PSU, Wattage, All fine.
6. Cleaned thoroughly, and monitored temperatures.
7. Configured My BIOS various times.
None of the above have fixed this problem.
Some other weird things about the BSOD, While getting this BSODs I once got 0x50, I used a clean driver install fix and that stopped
the problem for about 2 months.
Most commonly I got a BSOD 0x117 instead if 0x116.
Also I had believed that Safe Mode was my Safe Haven but I have also had the Crash there.
Last but not least every since I've had these BSODs they have stopped being BSODs in a sense, at first they would display
the blue screen with the Error code and cause but after 9-10 months of off and on BSODs they now just black screen then
the computer restarts.
Now when it crashes it Restarts into windows perfectly, I can hear audio of windows start up theme but I have no video period,
I used to be able to do a hard reset and then it would start up fine but now they only way I can get into a normal start up is
if I uninstall my GPU drivers then restart, but after the restart I have low resolution from no drivers and windows installs
the GPU's driver regardless If I have driver installation option and windows update off.
