WMP12 can't play ripped files well. The sound fades in and out.

I know its not a  not a sound card issue as it has happened on multiple sound cards. It is not my PC as I have tried different PCs from different brands, they all have the same issue. WMP11 and WMP12 don't play compressed files well.

After research,  I found a 3rd party ripper that rips the files uncompressed, but that makes the file huge. I like to know if there is a fix, a codec, or patch I can download so that WMP12 can play the files properly.

Any succesfull resolutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Answer

Hello,

Method 1:
I would suggest you to use the media player settings troubleshooter and check if this helps resolve issues -

Open Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter -
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Windows-Media-Player-Settings-troubleshooter

Method 2:
You may also refer to the sections ‘Reduce volume differences within song or between songs’ below link and check if changing the settings helps play the music properly-
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Change-volume-settings-in-Windows-Media-Player

Method 3:

You may even try changing the rip settings. Try changing the format of the file while using the ripping process and then check if you can rip and play a new CD properly -

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Change-settings-for-ripping-music

Hope this helps.
