Question

Change the way users log on or off in Windows 7

I am trying to run an script at work that requires elevate user privileges.  There is only one user on the list and is of course me.  I understand Windows has a build in administrator account.  Windows XP has the option of changing fast log in welcome screen to the Ctrl+Alt+Del that requires user name and password.  I want to access it as administrator so that I can run the script & make sure the workstation is secure.  When I installed Windows 7, I did not type a password for the workstation.  So the machine may be having the default admin account with a blanck password.

Answer
Hi Robert Hdez,

Perform the following workaround to enable the default administrator account and set the password.
Enable the Default admin account by running the following command:
1. Go to start and type cmd.exe
2. In the program pane right click on cmd.exe and choose run as administrator.
3. Type the following command in the command prompt:
    net user administrator /active:yes
4. You should see a message that the command completed successfully. Log out, and you’ll now see the Administrator account as a choice.

Once you have enabled the default administrator account set windows password. Follow the articles below for help on that:

Hope it helps.
