Windows Media Center won't play Netflix? (Windows 7 OS)

Hi,

I'm using Windows 7 OS and I'm trying to play Netflix in Windows Media Center.

Every time I try to open Netflix I get "Check your Internet connection and try again later."

Exact message is:

Internet Connection
There was a problem retrieving data. Verify your Internet connection is working and try again.

Netflix works in a browser but not in Media Center.

Is there anyway to fix this? I really would like to view Netflix through Windows Media Center.

Silverlight is up to date, I finally got that to work using one of your Fixits.

So, anything? Thanks.

John

Click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Playback

On the Playback tab, click the Default Device (indicated by a green circle with a check mark inside).

After selecting the Default Device, click on the Properties button.

In the new window that appears, click on the Enhancements tab.

Make sure that the box for Disable all enhancements or Disable all sound effects is checked.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried it but still the same. The exact message I get is:

I had the same problem and was able to fix it by doing the following.

I opened the Windows Control Panel

Choose Programs and Features

I then uninstalled Netflix in Windows Media Center

Started Media Center

Choose Netflix

Reinstalled Netflix

At this point Media Center got past the internet connection issue but asked for my username and password twice.  The first time I was able to enter the username and password.  The second time I was not allowed to enter either.  Wouldn't accept any keyboard input.  I went to Java.com and downloaded the latest version of Java.  This got things working for me.
