It seems to be a little more complicated than Microsoft Picture It but I think it will have to do. It was only $19.99, this was the cheapest price I could find, so I decided to give it a try. It doesn't come with a printed User Guide but you can access it through the program. Through another company they offer free graphic packages that you can download as well as some with minimal charges. To be honest, I hated the program when I first tried to use it but it is getting easier every time I use it now. I really think that Microsoft made a big mistake by not making Picture It compatible with Windows 8 but they seem to enjoy causing themselves problems. I hope this helps you............... This really bites!! I have been doing pet photos for shelter for 10 years now, using PIcture It, now I am at a loss, I have searching for free software but it seems like it will take 4-5 other programs to do what I was doing with Picture It. I need suggestions, I need to be able to slide photos into my own frames, add texts, have edge effects like soft edges, cool edges and work with layers...ANY suggestions!!!

What can you recommend to someone who used Microsoft "Picture It" program to create graphics moreso than using it for editing photos?  I'm at a loss without being able to use it and do not want to pay monthly subscriptions to use Adobe programs instead.

Noel I just downloaded the oem pip-10 disc from my old Dell desktop that I use strictly for photo editing onto my newer one running 8.1 and it worked fine. Not sure if there will issues down the road but I just edited some pics using pip-10 with windows 8.1. I am also using my old Dell 942 AIO printer with 8.1 by downloading the Lexmark SC400 printer drivers for Vista; again not sure if problems will arise but the printer/scanner is still working fine.
