Is there any program available for download that will read and convert a .mix file to a .jpg file on my computer, which is a Windows 7 system, 64 bit?

I used to have a computer with the Microsoft Picture It! Express program, with which I worked on my pictures, for my business.  The old computer went down, and is no longer functional, but the files were saved on disk. I did not realize that when I saved the pictures on a CD for my present computer, many of the pictures were saved in the .mix format from Picture-it,  which the new computer (Windows 7 Operating system) will not read.  I would like to have a way to convert these .mix files to .jpg, on the Windows 7 computer,  so that I can open them and work with them again.

this did not help, though I downloaded xnview, as it did not include .mix as one of its options. :-(

Or upgrade to windows professional and use the x-p mode to redownload the software, if it's still available ?
