How to add a dvd video to Windows Media Player library

Add dvd video to video library

I have the same problem as new user, trying to get my dvd video into my video library so I can burn dvds.  Isn't there a dvd burner in Windows Media Player or Windows DVD Make? It was suggested that he download some cd burner software.  I thought windows already had that software.  I am totally lost, the instructions don't seem to work.

================================
Win 7 does not include software for copying DVDs.
Windows DVD Maker can create a DVD from video
clips, photos and music files but that's a different
process.

The freeware...CDBurnerXP can be used to copy
home made DVDs.

'CDBurnerXP : How To Copy A Home Made DVD'

First copy the VIDEO_TS folder from the DVD to your Desktop.
(or to any folder you choose)

Now you'll need some software. The freeware CDBurnerXP
might be worth a try.

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)

CDBurnerXP
http://www.cdburnerxp.se/
(runs on XP, Vista, 7)

The following article explains how to burn the VIDEO_TS folder
on the DVD.

(scroll down to : Burning video DVDs)

Here's a copy of the steps:

===
CDBurnerXP - Burning video DVDs
Start CDBurnerXP, select a new data disc.
Go to "File" -> "Video DVD Layout" in the menu.

Now, select the folder that contains the video
DVD files and select "Create movie image".

Now burn the disc, as you would usually do.
Preferably, you choose to finalise the disc.
===

That should do it...

Good Luck...
