Last Backup: Displays 'Never'

I recently upgraded from XP to Windows 7.  I backed up to an external drive.  After backup is 'complete', it displays "Check you backup results.  The backup completed but some files were skipped".  I checked the file list and it list 3 files that could not be found.  I've repeated the backup several times and it always errors on the same files.  I've navigated to the folders and they don't exisit.  Why ie it trying to backup files that don't exist?

Also, the Backup and Restore windows shows "Last Backup:  Never".  Shouldn't this show the date of the last backup even if it returned a few errors?

Regards,

Patrick

Answer

Hi Patrick,

·        Which files are getting skipped when backup is run? Also, what kind of backup are you trying to run?

·        Did you try to check if the files which were skipped are hidden files or not?

·        Does the issue occur in a new user account?

Create a new user account and check if the issue occurs. If not then, you might want to fix the corrupted user profile.

Hope this helps. Look forward to hearing back from you.
