Answer

Hi,

Thank you for giving Microsoft community an opportunity to assist you with your Windows concern!

You cannot start back up due to "an internal error (0x80242302) Volume Shadow Copy Service component encountered an unexpected error".

Are you using Windows back up?

Method 1:

Make sure that the Volume shadow copy service is started in service.msc window.

a. Login to the administrator user account.

b. Click Start, type Services.msc in the search box, and run as administrator.

c. In the services window, search for the service: Volume Shadow Copy.

d. Right click the service: Volume Shadow Copy and restart the service.

e. Make sure that the issue is resolved.

Method 2:

Temporarily disable the antivirus software and check if you are able to perform system restore with any errors.

Warning:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 3:

You may perform a Clean Boot to see if any third party application is causing the issue.

Refer the following article to do the same:

How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

Note:

After performing the troubleshooting steps please refer Step 3 from the above article to “Reset the computer to start as usual”.

Method 4:

Run SFC scan
