Question

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Applies To:
I am currently using a Asus G50V and installed Windows 7 tree day ago, one days latter, I learned that I can no longer use my DVD-ROM drive.....
I have dvd rewriter model : GSA-T50L , I went to Device Manager and find:Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)...
 
I do not understand why the DVD-ROM's device driver became corrupted, since it was working fine until yesterday. I tried searching the Internet for an updated driver, but was unsuccessful. I do not know whether Windows 7 has anyting to do with the corrupt device driver.
 
pleas help!!!

p.s. I try uninstalling DVD/CD-ROM from device manager and reboot  system and nothing.......

Follow the steps for Windows Vista which should also work for Windows 7.
