Printer Communication Error with Windows 7, worked prior to Wondows update on 10/10

Running Wndows 7 under VMWare on MacBook Pro. Printer worked well for a while after I initially installed it.  Then there was a windows update on 10/10 and it has not worked since!

Tried reinstalling drivers for the Konica Minolta PagePro 1350W, running under XP SP2 compatibility and Administrator.

Installation Error:

Printer Power Off / Communication Error / Printer Mismatch

1.  Check that the printer is turned on (it is)

2.  Check the power cord (it is there)

3.  Check the printer cable ( prints if I connect it to my Dell laptop running XP SP2)

4.  Check that the printer is connected to the correct local port.  (USB001)

Then run this Setup again.

I receive this message over and over again. 

I receive the same error with an HP C4180 printer that I also have. 

The USB port works for downloading images from cellphone and camera.

What is going on?

Step 1: Run the fixit available in the link below and check if that makes any difference

Step 2: Disable the security software and then test; follow the steps mentioned in the link below

Disable-antivirus-software

Important: Enable the security software back once everything is done.

Step 3: Put the computer in clean boot and then try to reinstall the printer

Important: - Remember to put the computer back to normal startup follow step 7 in the link.

Also uninstall the updates effect the machine.
