Install My scanner on Windows 7. EPSON PERFECTION 1260

The CD ROM installs the software, but Windows 7 can't find the installation. When I click on the smart panel icon  a box appears telling me that " Unable to access the scanner or another program is using it. Please make sure that the scanner is on and that it is connected to the computer."

There is a driver here, but ONLY 32-bit. If you are running Windows 7 64-bit, it will not work..
