How to slow down audio acceleration in Windows 7 Home Premium x64?

Hello, I just got Assassin's Creed Director's Cut Edition. Install went fine, but in the cut scenes, audio is out of sync. For full screen I need to run it in Windows Vista (Service Pack 1) compatibility mode. It seems I need to lower the audio acceleration, but I don't know how to in Windows 7. In the advanced display settings troubleshoot tab, change settings is greyed out. There is no hardware acceleration changer in Directx 10. I tried googling it, but I've found no solutions. I have the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphics card. The Assassins Creed compatibility check went OK.

-Thank You.

Hi Geebmaster,

Step 1:

I would suggest you to change the hardware acceleration and check if this helps -
a. Close Expression Media if it is open.
b. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
c. Click Appearance and Personalization, and then click Personalization.
d. Under Personalize appearance and sounds, click Display Settings.
e. Click Advanced Settings, click the Troubleshoot tab, and then click Change Settings.
f. Move the Hardware acceleration slider to Medium, and then click OK three times.
g. Close Personalize appearance and sounds.

By default the hardware acceleration will be high, so reduce the hardware acceleration to medium level and check.

Step 2:

If the change Settings option is grayed out then you may try updating the display card drivers and check.

You may try downloading the drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check -

Also refer to the steps mentioned in the link and check - Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly

Hope this helps.
