Are you talking about turning off the transmitter?

Since you haven't provided adapter details, I can only guess but some have a utility that has an option to turn off radio.

Hi,

I have the same issue. I need to know this for a wireless card and for a wired card.
I have Windows 8 Enterprise edition with the latest patches and all drivers were also updated from the laptop manufacturer.

The wireless card is built-in of type (Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG Wireless Network Adapter).
The NIC is (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller).

Monitor mode: monitoring data packets which is known as promiscuous mode also.

When I go to Device manager and look into the "properties" of both cards in the "advanced" tab, there is a lot of parameters which I am not able to decide which one to choose to put in monitor mode.

e.g. on Atheros the AdHoc 11n is enabled but not sure if this is the right property.
on the Realtek Controller, I am not sure which property to set.

Anyone who can help.

Regards
