Help getting my floppy disk drive to work with Windows 7

Original Title: 3.5 disks

I have a external floppy drive for my 3.5 disks (which I have lots of) and I can't get it to work with Windows 7. Why will it not work?  I have alot of information on 3.5 disks that I need to upload and since I went to 7 I can't.  Are you working on a update or something?

Thank you.

Answer

Try the drive on another computer to verify that it is OK. I have Windows 7 on a box with a floppy and it is recognized and reads from and writes to floppies. It has Windows 7 Pro. My laptop has Windows 7 Home Premium. An Imation external USB floppy is connected and recognized. The OS reads and writes floppies. I, too have lots of them.

New drives are getting hard to find so test it and run out quiclky to find a new one if needed. <g>
