OK,

before you tried to install new drivers did you go to:

windows start menu;

control panel;

programs and features; (locate and select your printer driver then select repair. if unable to repair then uninstall before trying to install a new driver)

If you go to the:

windows start menu;

use the file search to find "Dpinst.log" open it with notepad and post a copy as this will show what happened to cause the driver install error.

If the driver is installed and good, try this to relocate the printer:

go to the devices and printers menu.

if you see your printer you can select it then right click to select the troubleshooting wizards.

if you don't see your printer select the add a printer option to do a search for your printer.
