Running application problems with Rome total war "Rome total war encountered an unspecified error and will now exit"

I am trying to run a game called Rome Total war  after I have installed it but it keeps coming up with "Rome total war encountered an unspecified error and will now exit". How do I fix this?

1. Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

2. Are you using a DVD while playing the specific game?

If you are using the DVD while running, check if the game DVD is damaged or not working. 
 
Method 1: Clean boot

Put your computer in clean boot and check for the issue.

Note: Once you are done with clean boot, please follow step 7 in the article to put your computer back to normal startup.
 
 
Method 2:
 
I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the game and check with the issue.
