Question

Windows Favorites Explorer

I deleted all the favourites from the top left of my Windows Explorer, and now would like to restore the standard folders and drag new folders there.

I cannot, however, as when I drag a folder there, a tiny icon as a red cross shows up.  I have windows vista.

Answer

Hi,

Use System Restore back to before you did that. Then do not delete the Favorites or all of its
contents - leave Favorites Bar (though you can delete some of the contents). Might be wise to
leave a couple of other folders for stability until you have created the new ones.

Another method :

Start - type in Search box -> Shell:Favorites
Hit Enter

Another method would be to use a Repair Installation or migrate your Account to a new one.

This allows you to keep your programs and data though redundant backups are always a good
idea.
