Unable to create new folder. File System Error 512.

Hi,

I've been unable to create new folders in my public pictures library lately. Whenever I do, I get a File System Error 512 message.

One forum respondent said that Windows 7 had a hardwired limit of 50 folders under Pictures. Even though I already had 61 folders, which kind of contradicted that answer, I went ahead and tidied up until now I only have 39 folders directly under Pictures. However, the problem still persists.

Just for the record, I've also done a registry cleanup, obviously have rebooted, etc.

Any ideas out there would be most appreciated.

Did you make any changes to the computer before you encountered the issue?

 

Check if you are able to create a new folder under Picture Library in safe mode. To boot in safe mode follow the link given below.
