Open multiple Win Explorer windows?

I used to be able to do this in XP.  Is there a way to keep more than 1 such window open?

Not sure I quite grasp "jump lists," but right-clicking on the Word icon at the bottom of the page reveals a collection of recent Word documents.

Hi Joe

If you have the Windows Explorer icon pinned to the Taskbar, click it once to open a window. If you want to open more, separate windows, hold down the Shift key and click the same Icon again.

Joe,

Do you mean the taskbar, when you refer to the bottom of the screen? If you have the Explorer shortcut pinned to the task bar it seems to act as a toggle, i.e. opening and closing an explorer window

Try this:  Click Start, type explorer into the search bar, drag the Windows Explorer icon (shown under the programs category) onto your desktop. A new explorer window will open, each time you double click it.

I was not aware of the taskbar behavior, since I have the explorer shortcut programmed to a mouse button.

Hope this will help
