I had recently run Registry Mechanic and I noticed that it put a .RRR and .RMBAK file in my home/user folder. It also made NTUSER.dat visible/unhidden. Is this normal? I deleted Registry Mechanic but the files remained.
Why did you bother with a snake-oil product like Registry Mechanic? What "problem" did you hope it would solve?
Registery "cleaners" aren't worth bothering with.
I suggest you do a System restore to a point before you'd installed it...
