Is there a way to change how Windows 7 does "group by" in folders?
hey there!
in windows xp when i grouped files and folder by name it would group them to me by each letter (all the files and folder that begins with A were under A and so on) but in windows 7 it group them under A-H (bigger groups and less groups) and i don't want it.
does anyone knows how to separate that into single letter group?
The option of grouping by name is an inbuilt feature of Windows 7 and cannot be modified to work with single letters
(A, B, C, etc).
But I would suggest you to check for the other features provided in Group By
option -
1. When you right click in any folder and go to group by option.
2. Under the categories you get various options as Name, Type, Size, and Date.
At the end there is option more…
3. If you click on that option you will get different categories under the window heading
choose details.
4. Here you may select and unselect the option you want. Also you can prioritize the categories by selecting them and using the buttons
Move up and Move Down in the Window. Thus, you can group them
as per your requirement.
Hope this helps. Let us know the results.
