Windows Explorer toolbar is missing

The Windows Explorer toolbar is missing. This is a gating issue for me. I will return the computer and demand a refund or demand XP if this can't be fixed.

I was able to install a legacy program that is use daily. IT'S toolbar is also missing!!!

I have dozens of legacy program that are not "compatible". I value these apps much more highly than a continually stunted interface with transparent borders. This is a gating issue. . I will return the computer and demand a refund or demand XP if this can't be fixed.

My eyes are light sensitive. The first thing I do when I buy a new Windows machine is to set the Explorer folder background to gray. I can't do it, even in "Classic" view!

This is a gating issue for me. I will return the computer and demand a refund or demand XP if this can't be fixed.

Can these things be fixed? I could live with the 100's of other embarrassments of this UI, but not these items.

Answer
Answer
Show Menu Bar in Windows Explorer - Very easy to fix 1. Click the Start button, type folder options and click the "Folder Options" link that appears.

2. When the "Folder Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "View" tab.

3. Underneath "Advanced Settings", check "Always Show Menus".

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

If you have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate you can download and run XP Mode to install your legacy programs.
