Windows 7 weather gadget has been stuck on the same report for months

My windows 7 weather gadget has been stuck on the same report for months.  It's the weather one that comes with Windows 7. I don't think I can re-install it, but I did toggle the gadget service itself.

I looked at a few similar threads in our forums http://bit.ly/bRR7lu and http://bit.ly/dzJ1Jn. I also tried looking at http://bit.ly/bTIltV.

Can someone help troubleshoot?

Thanks.

Hello Social Media,

Lets try a couple troubleshooting steps to help determine what the cause might be.

First, try Restore desktop gadgets installed with Windows:

 - Click Start

 - Type Restore gadgets into the Start menu search box

 - Click Restore desktop gadgets installed with Windows.

Is the issue still present?

If so, try another user profile. If another user account is not available, create a new user account by following these directions.

If the issue is still present?

Try performing a clean boot to determine whether a background application could be interferring with the gadget. Click here for the full instructions to perform a clean boot.

Hope this helps

xMopx,

Please proceed with the clean boot first to see if we can identify a problem with possible third party applications.

If you do experience the problem in a clean boot, then the issue is due to profile corruption and you can  copy files to the new user profile, excluding the problematic ones.

Hey,

It worked on a different account. I didnt't try the clean boot because of this, should I still do so?

Edit: Also, the restoring gadgets did not resolve it.

Thanks,

Dave
