User log-in screen activation

If I set my laptop "Do nothing" when close the lid on the Power Option setting page in Windows7, please advise how to enable the user log-in screen once I re-open my laptop lid when it was closed?

Actually, I want to keep my laptop operating even the lid was closed, when I re-open it, the user log-in screen will be activated. Since it could be made in Vista before, please advise. Thank you!

Answer

Thank you for your help, however it doesn't work.

I've found a solution now, it can be done by editing the windows registry as follow.....

regedit....HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\Power, add a new DWORD32 there and rename it as AwayModeEnabled, right click and edit the value as 1 (Hex). Finally, edit the laptop's Lid close action as Sleep on the Power Option setting page in Windows7.

I am not sure it is the best way or not, but it is fine for me, my laptop can keep downloading file even it is in Sleep mode. Anyway, I hope this issue can be fixed by future update.

Regards,

Ben
