Cant get Desktop background set to anything else than stretch

Applies To:
When i choose some other option than stretch, for the desktop background, say, fill, or center, or tile or whatever, and save changes, the changes dont get saved, and the background is still stretched. Whatever i do, this remains the same.
Also, when i change the resolution to some other, say 800x600, it just shows in the center 800x600 area and does not stretch to the full screen of the laptop. same for any other resolutions except the default (1280x800)
Please Help...

Hi Nikhilji,
      I am new to these forums and have no idea bout these threads. Thanks anyways. Am happy to tell you that I have resolved the issue by downloading & installing Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows* 7 from http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/18334/a08/Win7Vista_15162.exe&agr=&ProductID=&DwnldId=18334&strOSs=&OSFullName=&lang=eng 
I found this using google.

HI 

its default in stretch mode
are you using a HP system, you need to download and fix it.

this should work on Non HP systems also.

Thank You very much Nikhilji. Your suggestion worked well. However, when i change the resolution to some other, say 800x600, it just shows in the center 800x600 area and does not stretch to the full screen of the laptop (this problem existed earlier and is not due to the install of wallpaper picture position enabler). same for any other resolutions except the default (1280x800)... This is still the same...

it's mostly due to pixel resolution of your wallpaper, try different resolution pixel picture.
or go to personalization < desktop background<change picture position, 
Check the issue.

Hi Nikhilji,
  It has nothing to to with wallpaper. What I meant to say was, when I hange the screen resolution, to say, 800x600 etc, any other tahn the default, instead of the resolution changing, the screen size only changes to 800x600pix, with the same default resolution in it. whenever v change the resolution, only the clarity changes, and you can view the same thing  in full screen. But here, the clarity remains the same, but only i get a screen of 800x600 size inside my laptop screen...

you have posted this query in new thread.

please follow one thread, so it helps forum users to find out suggestions quickly.

you are using INTEL graphics, be sure that you have latest drivers installed on your system.
and some does not support different resolutions based on system specifications.
Check refresh rate on 800x600. 

just a try 
create new Admin account install(position enabler), check the issue.

uninstall the graphics driver and install it again or updated one and check the issue.
