Windows 10 update error C1900101-40017

Have now tried 3 times to upgrade from Windows 7 SP1 to Windows 10 on the offer.  Each time the upgrade has failed and restored me to Windows 7 giving the installation failure reason as Unknown error C1900101-40017.

Other people have found the same or similar problem according to the posts - Is there a solution to this?
