Just took a real long time for me. Like almost an hour, try and wait it out!

Ieft it running overnight, 0% still. Stopping the process is now stuck at "setup is cleaning up before it closes".

Here is the solution, mine got stuck at 0% for 6 hours.

Go to update settings in control panel, change the settings to check for updates but let me choose ......... to install them ( it must be the third one). And, also check the box where it says give me updates for other products (it should be ticked). And apply, give some time, check you're connection and checking for updates will jump.

Remember to revert back the update settings to install updates automatically.

I had to keep stopping the update service, as it kept turning on.

I had the same issue when trying to upgrade from W7 to W10. What I did was run the FixIT wizard found on Microsofts support site to reset my system's update component. Here's the link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058. Install and run the correct wizard for your system. (NOTE: If you have W10 updating in the background DO NOT EXIT.) Once the wizard runs and completes, go back to the same link, scroll to the bottom of the manual reset instructions and click on the latest Windows Update Agent. Install an run this and at this point (at least for me) you should be able to install Windows 10!!

Good luck!

hey thanks a lot. simply running FixIT made the installed proceed. Didn't have to do anything manually. Thank you very much :)
