Cortana not finding Desktop apps when searching for them
When I search for things like Steam it pulls up the file folder but not the actual app, the app is inside the folder but not on the actual search results, how can I fix this, my friend's works just fine.
I reinstalled [Cortana] using the following procedure:
1. Open and elevated CMD window (rightclick --> run as admin) 2. Start powershell (type 'powershell' without quotes and press enter) 3. Run the command:
Within 10 seconds my search was back to normal and I could finally put this problem to rest.
-- Edit --
This only "repaired" one login, but some results still do not show. The same procedure still leaves search non-available to other logins. Also, now I get "We're getting search ready..." as a permanent "feature" to my search results.
I guess we have to sit back and relax for an official fix to be released.
